Google Google Greensboro: Quoted in News & Record Article

by Ryan Shell on March 11, 2010

Google is currently being courted by my hometown of Greensboro, NC   (Google Greensboro) in hopes that they’ll bring their high speed Internet to the city.

The News & Record (local newspaper) published a story today highlighting that the efforts thus far might be a little of track. The reporter gave me a call yesterday to discuss the issue and here’s what he included from that conversation,

“Ryan Shell, who ran unsuccessfully for City Council last year, said he would have lent his marketing skill for free.

After the city’s first open meeting, Shell said he proposed a second — a meeting that everything that could be done to lure Google was being done. Shell said that meeting never happened.

“I think that could have brought a lot of people together,” he said.”

Hopefully the future will bring me good fortune and they’ll no longer write, “Who ran unsuccessfully for City Council.” It’s all good though.

    Great post! Coffee some day?

You drink coffee and I’ll drink water. Sound like a plan? I work in Winston during the day so my Greensboro meetings are limited to the evening.
